DIGISAVE RC

Field control unit with remote actuation and telecontrol

The increasing automation of transformer stations leads to the use of standardised technology for protection and control systems. Highly-integrated combined systems start giving problems, at the latest, when the system is in operation and protection and control experts can no longer find any precisely defined interfaces. Even if you only want to adjust the time scales used in the protective device you will need to use complex and unwieldy operating and programming software. For this reason, the protective functions and remote actuation technology in DIGISAVE have been implemented separately.

In DIGISAVE, connecting to individual protective devices goes via the standard communications interface IEC 60870-5-103 to the remote actuation substation FW5 / FW50.

DIGISAVE devices that are installed in the field with principal function "protection" convey protection-related data using the standard IEC 60870-5-103 protocol to the remote actuation substation FW5 / FW50. Remote actuation commands, messages and analogue values are input and output directly by the remote actuation substation FW5 / FW50.

 

DIGISAVE protective devices incorporate all the system's protective functions plus communication with the field unit FW5 / FW50. This unit facilitates communication with the control centre via a wide range of protocols such as IEC 60870-5-101, IEC 60870-5-104 and IEC 61850.
